Weekly Bonus #33

Hi patrons ! Here is the weekly bonus number #33 where I'm sharing step by steps of four panels from future episode 14 (work in progress, not final). I'm completing right now the episode to get fully rendered in 'speedpaintings' for the translation-team. When I work this way (with speedpainting) I'm able to catch faster an ambiant, a mood, a light design I have in mind ; it's fresh, direct and dynamic. Getting this ambiance is something I have a lot of difficulties to do when I color under a finished detailed pencil drawing (with Gmic[colorize] filter to mask area). The disadvantage of speedpainting: it's not really clean and detailed. That's why next week my challenge will be to add the right amount of polishing pass and add more details to finalise the episode without killing the painterly effects I like.

Thank you for your support!

Hehe, not very hard to discover I think. But more important: holy shit, I recently read the crap with the kickstarter by Sir "whatever". Good to see, it is solved and all the trouble wasn't for nothing! And congrats to your new project with the krita guys. Good luck with this! (and a lot LESS trouble for the future!)

Oh yes, I saw it on your potion ; you are good at 'economy of stroke'. It's a quality/skill I really have to work on it ( or I'll spend all time budget at detailing, a long meditative step ).

Thank you Colin :)

Yes, you totally discovered the theme of episode 14 :)

Oh? Pepper as a part time dentist? :-)

I'm almost the opposite. I'm more likely to consider a looser piece finished, and have trouble working on the polish. There has to be a decent middle ground that keeps the energy of loose brush strokes, but also delivers on necessary detail. :)

As always, your artwork is beautiful and vibrant - I love it! :D
