A free bonus artwork ( hi-res + blog post here ) : http://www.peppercarrot.com/en/article284/the-chaosevolutions-magic-system

In order to push forward the story on future episodes ; I had to define better Hereva ( the world of Pepper&Carrot ). One of the hardest part was to create a magic-system. I wanted something original, and not based on the traditional pentacle ( scary ) or other known ones ( aka the D&D, or Magic The Gathering system) . Here is the The "Chaos&Evolutions" magic-system created from scratch for Pepper&Carrot , and free/open-source. ( wiki for description : https://github.com/Deevad/peppercarrot/wiki/Magic-System ).

I'm back painting episode 8 now, thanks for your support !

Thank you :)

Sometimes David takes his face, rolls it across his keyboard and suddenly a magic system emerge. Sound a lot like chaos & evolution :D But I like the Idea from drifting away from something classical like fire, water, wind, earth.

:-) True, here is what I've added to the wiki : >> Wars between Magmah and Aquah: ------------------------------------------------------- A famous war opposed the Kielbasah and the Wharrgarblah school. At this time, the two schools were named respectively Magmah and Aquah. It was accepted that the winner of the war would choose a name for the looser. Centuries of intense war followed, and many died. The high council of Ah decided they both lost, and renamed them. >> Now it will be part of the challenge to introduce it little by little on backstory/flashback elements. Certainly post episode 10. Thanks !

Ha ha, certainly true. I hope the humor in the episode in general doesn't suffer too much about my "frenchyness" . I just read a bit about it ( http://www.understandfrance.org/French/Attitudes3.html ) and it feels like this page is accurate about French humor for the generation of my parents. But younger generation has probably a more international sens of humor ( thanks to US movies/series? Japan Anime/Manga ? ) . I'm curious how my culture influence this, and how it can be perceived on another point of view. I'll keep reading about it.

Thank you !

Thanks Simon ! I'm really happy with your comment because you are an experienced RPG gamer and maker. If one day in future of 'Hereva' world building you see a big mistake, or something not making any sens ( in negative way ) do not hesitate to report. Thanks.

David Revoy

Now that you've made me think about context instead of just going "ugh, internet names", I can see the potential for good backstory. I have this lovely image of the opposing schools sabotaging an "Official" naming ceremony out of spite and getting stuck with the silly insulting names the opposing sides use for each other.

Taedirk

Thank you WoodChi, yes it's a time investment, but this type of documentation will help a lot the derivative project ( RPG , Board game, video game ). I'll keep investing time in it :-)

David Revoy

Thank you Taedirk. Yes, I understand the name of this two are controversial and I did hesitate a lot to choose them. I'll probably try to develop later the backstory around those two crazy names.( in short, this two names results of a war of school between ex "Aquah" , and ex "Magmah" , I'll add it to the wiki ). Thank you for your honest feedback ! very appreciated.

David Revoy

The Wharrgarblah and Kielbasah names are a little too silly for me, but I love the original take on a magic system.

Taedirk

Definitely worth spending the time worldbuilding to help with the story and I am glad our Patronage allows you the time to do that. This looks great!

Woodchi

Nice and refreshingly different.

Simon Forster

Really cool! The magic system and the picture!

This French humour is so difficult to undestand. :/
