Hi Patrons, and here is the Pepper&Carrot weekly blog n°4, a mid week after the release of 'The Wish' episode 07. # Tutorial soon ! You sponsor the tutorials (thank you!) so I thought I could ask you what type of tutorials you prefer. The main picture I join to this weekly propose a choice of topic for the next tutorial. I propose three ideas, but you can also propose a new one. Maybe I should propose even simpler one ? or more technical and complex ? or more about drawing fundamentals ? Thanks for your feedback! # Responsive website quest Pepper&Carrot website failed the 'Google Mobile-Friendly Test tool' ( my portfolio too :-P ). Indeed, the website, even fresh from February has a poor support of mobile and tablets ( + no 'share' buttons, and could be better, simpler ). My webdesign skills are old and outdated but were enough to maintain and create my website till now. So, I took a bit of time to update my knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3, I made like 6 prototype html front-page website to learn ; and also I read a lot of informations about how to make responsive menu using CSS only. I also decided to adopt a CSS framework. I tested the most known ; Bootstrap, HTMLKickstart, Foundation, Skel , etc... but I found happiness in PluCSS http://plucss.pluxml.org/ , made by the team of my blog CMS, simple grid system plus a bunch of class for classic styles. Next website is a background task , no ETA yet. #Patreon page maintenance : The Patreon page of Pepper&Carrot is the same since last summer and use graphisms and texts from episode 02. I started to brainstorm to update it. The condition, offer, rewards, etc... will still be the same ( I'll only add the new things I do , eg. 'weekly' , 'credit' in the episode , monthly tutorial , etc... ) ; just updating graphism and sentences , make it easier to understand the license ; and maybe add a video in the header and other milestones to not freeze the project to 900$. # Translations : Carlo Gandolfi ( Italian ) and RJ Quiralta ( Mexicano ) worked hard this week to translate all remaining episodes ( and also learnt how to use Github, and do pull-request ). Also, a new member came in the translation team : Jing Yan , doing Chinese translation, he started on episode 07 and it's already online. Less than one week after release ; episode 07 has 11 language ! fantastic ! # Episode 08 WIP For Episode 08, I have the choice to pick in a pool of many short story I wrote : "a visit to Coriander" , "The introduction of a villain", "A problem with the villager around Pepper's house", "a mini love story" and "the broom-stick factory". It's impossible to draw them all , and that's -as usual- frustrating. I'll have to focus and choose only one , and improve it, because they all are draft. So I'll start to sketch, brainstorm to find the right one. Those sketches or screenshot will be the topic of next weekly for sure. Thanks again for the support! Do not hesitate to critic my decisions, or ideas if something feels 'meh' to you ; just let discuss about it. And don't forget to vote for a tutorial topic :) Thank you.
