Part 2 and a road map.

So, there's been lots of prep and just good ol' fashioned editing being done. I guess I will start with explaining the image.

(1) This represents Part 1 in the timeline, complete and released of course but you are able to see it for comparison.

(2) This is just under an hour of Part 2 that's complete, soundtrack, visuals and all.

(3) This is a portion of the video that still lacks the visuals and soundtrack but the audio is refined and and clips that play during the audio timeline are attached.

(4) This is what remains of Part 2 in unrefined audio form. This portion is only about 50 minutes of video but I do several takes and often commit to a couple of re-writes, making the recording a lot longer than the final.

That is the current state of Part 2, it is on the way and I expect it to be completed by the end of this month and released at the end of February, of which there are a couple of reasons for.

First, I want to stagger the releases of these videos so that they come out at a reasonable timeline instead of a couple of videos in one month or so and then the next part after half a year or something.

But on top of that, we got April coming up and my goodness, there's so much to cover .

We have Game of Thrones and its final season. A show that I have been passionate about for a very long time and it has scorned me again and again.

We have One Punch Man Season 2, which I don't intend to make a video on but if it's horribly bad, then you can guarantee I will be annoyed. And who knows what could happen from there.

Then we have Avengers: Endgame, which is pretty much something I will cover as a celebration of the MCU having it's season finale. I am looking forward to making that video already and I am hoping the film will be well constructed but honestly, who knows with these sorts of things.

Erm, we have Valentines Day coming up and I was thinking of doing another Audio Commentary for that since it is vaguely a holiday. Depends on how you all feel about it, should only knock out a few days of editing time at most but they are a nice break from the main stuff.

And finally, April fools day itself, of which I have so MANY IDEAS FOR. You guys, seriously have no idea how much I want to take advantage of that day. This past year has been hilarious for quotes and ideas for parody, I already have things in the works.

Oh and of course, we have Captain Marvel coming up in march, which is something I will be invested in thanks to the MCU but man, the discussion on that movie is already toxic, so i'm not sure what's happening there.

So, the point here is that I cannot feasible complete this series before April and that is when I get so many more projects I want to cover, pouring in.

This series is very meta in nature at times and I think each part stands alone while being a chunk of a cohesive whole, so I am happy to take breaks from it as we progress through 2019. I understand that isn't the best news for a lot of you because it was expected to be an all in one sort of deal but as I have said before;

This project has been extremely taxing and it takes hours of each day to push it further and further to the standard I want it to reach. It is a lesson for me, I have already considered using game play in the next bigger series in order to get the analysis out faster despite a lower production quality.

But I do believe this whole thing will be the best content I will make on both a script level and an editing level for a long time, so it should be more than worth it.

Part 2 is on the way and while being about 2 hours and 20 minutes in length (approx) with the same kind of editing as part 1, it will be fully focused on the media in question.

I am excited about it, I hope to post a screen shot in the next update that shows it near completion and I can breakdown what it will be going over. From there, I am going to begin work on my April fools videos, which wont be as complex, but I want them prepared for the day.

Once they are finished, I should be lead up to Captain Marvel and after that, I can prep for Avengers, leading into a potential Game of Thrones video. In between each of these projects, I will be soldiering on with Part 3+ and of course, if I don't decide to cover these other topics then I will spend more time on the major project.

That is where we currently stand outside of any bonus appearances or streams, it is very much what I would call, tough, engaging and rewarding work. And I am thankful for each of the patrons helping me push this as a career.

SubscribeStar has now accepted my profile, it can be found here - https://www.subscribestar.com/mauler - But keep in mind that it is very much in infancy and I am focusing Patreon until I am more familiar with their interface and I actually connect some kind of payment method, which I still have not done yet. (So please keep that in mind, if you are considering switching.)

I do want to take this opportunity to say that if anyone feels that I am taking too long to make this content or that it simply isn't of a standard they expected, that there is no obligation to stay on this site and that I appreciate all of the support that you have provided the channel.

Ultimately, I never like to promise deadlines because of how unpredictable the entire process is, but feel free to highlight concerns you may have and I will do my best to explain anything that is unclear. I for many, many years, have been on the other end of content creation and I would often question what is happening on the creator end, so I totally understand.

But yes, that's another 2 weeks down and another 2 on the way, thank you for the kind and supportive messages, i'l see yah there o/ <3

Long time watcher here, I just wanted to say that I am really grateful that your kind of detailled and researched analysis has found its public in Youtube and I'll continue to follow you as I can because I really enjoy your videos. However if I had one remark to make in views of the recent laser focus on yourself by other critiques is to try and not reply with them with too much bile for I fear that it'll be a vicious circle that'll only reinforce the divide between you and them and make EFAP less about discussing ideas and more about defending yourself, you're the best when you focus on analysis and I fear you'll project a vindicative image of yourself by refusing to ignore the pettiest criticisms that obviously you shouldn't bother with. Best of luck to you in your projects !

Also, apologies in advance if this is not the right place to share/ask, but I created a kinda Mark Hamil tribute inspired by your TLJ vids. I'd appreciate some feedback if you have 10 mins to spare. It's my first time using iMovie. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e4SN3kMEdJc&t=1s

Personally, EFAPs are hard to get through as I more often than not have little to no idea what ya'll are talking about (i.e. unfamiliar with original content). Glancing at SocialBlade, it seems your Unbridled Rage/Praise vids may give you more ROI for your time (depending on how long it actually takes you to create one of those) that the 5-6 hour EFAPs. Something to consider. I agree with your idea to approach the Captain Marvel debate cautiously as it is certainly a toxic one. Good luck and keep up the good work.

Well, it's just bad timing that the series will coincide with so many things coming out in April. However, it will finish soon before episode 9 comes out (which could be hilariously bad if the pregnant Rey theories are true) so you'll be able to finish the series soon after each other.

It's being worked on. I am concerned with trying to get a bit of quality control like having a sort of intro jingle and editing down the episodes specifically for audio only listeners. Then there is the matter of picking the right platform and sorting out some branding for EFAP in general. I think I will have a full crack at all of it once i'm a little less involved with so many projects but it is definitely a job I have my eyes on.

Part one was awesome and the EFAPs are definitely tiding us over - keep up the good work!

Thanks for the update. I, for one, have no problem with a lengthy release schedule. Your videos are incredibly detailed and its easy to see a lot goes into them. Those are the very reasons I watch them multiple times, often in multiple sittings. I'll need time between releases just to make sure I catch everything!

Any plans on having an audio podcast version of efap? YouTube is a bit cumbersome to use as a podcast app.

Good old Game of Thrones. One last season to disappoint us. That's a shame, I would have liked to see the weekly video release that you've done in the past, but it's not a big deal. If I had to make a criticism of what I've seen so far, it's that sometimes you would speak relatively quickly while going through points and it would become difficult to keep up. That's a minor thing, since I can just rewind the video, but I always appreciated the pace of your TLJ and Dark Souls 2 videos. Other than that, I was very pleased with part 1, and I'm looking forward to whenever part 2 will come out. I'm especially curious about what you'll say about Finn butchering the people he had served with...

Ben L.

I'm okay with the wait, I've still got about 50 hours of EFAP yet to watch, and with more of those it'll be a while before I'm even caught up. I eagerly await the next section of video, whenever it may come!
