I'm Building a 900HP Electric Ford Escape

As a Quebecer, I feel a patriotic duty to inform the world that Lion Electric is from Quebec. I see them fairly often on the roads here. The bumpers are blue and they look really nice!

I'll go over the numbers in more depth in the next video to make things a bit more clear. Yes, HP and top speed can be tweaked in software, but they won't even remotely come close to the numbers I'll be getting from this EV swap. The power is getting more than quadrupled. At low speeds, the wheel torque is getting doubled. At Highway speeds, the wheel torque is getting quintupled. Yes, the batteries will add about a ton. As I said in the video, I'm going with a range extending generator, so range will not be a concern. Also, the batteries will be heated and air conditioned to keep them at the ideal temperature at all times. If it's parked, they don't need to be heated since they won't be doing anything.

I wouldn’t do an EV conversion on the bus. 1. The bus HP, speed, cruise and torque all can be change with the right software. Take the bus or have someone come over and change the settings in the bus. Set your top speed at 77 cruise at 75 up your HP but up your torque more. This will improve your pulling power. Changing over to batteries will kill your range plus it will add unwanted weight to the bus. Also you will not be able to park the bus outside in extreme cold weather. 72 is the idea temp for EV busses.

Driving my kids to school today we encountered a Los Angeles Unified School District school bus that was electric! I had never seen such a thing. Apparently built (converted) by a company called Lion Electric. It was slightly disconcerting to have such a large lumbering vehicle making almost no noise.
