Hi! Did you want a collab? Here's a collab. Alec will also be making a video on this topic, but it will be coming in a few weeks.

What Does an EV Road Trip Look Like?

This, very much. It requires planning the first time you drive a route. Once you get to know your car and charging stations around longer routes it becomes pretty effortless. Infrastructure is key here, though. I think we are ahead on this one here in Europe.

I'd say that 99% of trips do not need any special planning, and for the longer trips once you know where the chargers are you won't need to think about it next time around. Like you said this is only going to get better. Personally I love having a full "tank" before I go anywhere. Not missing going to the gas station. If only someone would build an EV station wagon I'd be set to replace my ICE car and wave emissions testing goodbye forever :)

You two have the best bromance going on. I love watching your crossovers and cameos.

Great video as always. I’d like to go electric, but not until trips don’t require special planning- which may come sooner than we expect, driven by demand. Once all cars are electric, and all charge as fast as this car, I’d imagine we’d need at least three times as many chargers as there are currently pumps, which would also require a lot of new substations and 3-phase drops- or maybe not. People will be doing a lot of their charging at home, and companies will be charging at their sites.

Dad bod alert!

Great video as usual! When the car market ever becomes less bonkers I'm considering replacing my Chevy Volt with the Kia EV6, which is basically an Ioniq 5 with a thicc rear end.

Glad you had an uneventful charging experience! That slow charging on one of the stations was likely the cooling system for the liquid cooled cable - they’ll derate to 100A if it’s broken, ~750v * 100A gets you the 75kW you saw.

Funny how my favorite youtubers always end up doing collabs together...

RobBob (Robert Stolorz)

That car is surprisingly cool. I've seen a few of them around here in NY lately and was impressed. It's amazing how far Hyundai has come in the last 10 years.

Eric Greenberg

I watch both of your channels and enjoy them. Nice to see both of you at the same time :P

Jonathan MacIntyre

I heard someone ordered an EV of their own 😉
