Part 2 is on the way.

So, Part 1 is now set definitively, to be released on Christmas day, probably 4PM GMT. As it stands, it could be released right now but I am planning on getting a few more edits done on top of a little bit of art that is missing.

Interestingly one of the ideas to edit some stuff in came from the EFAP podcast. As we covered Joseph Anderson's recent videos, I looked back on an the current edit of part 1 and made a list of where I could be more explicit, ultimately I cant cover the ideas of objectivity vs. subjectivity definitively in one hour but it helps to be as clear as I can.

There will be a time to explore the subject further in a video one day. But for now, I have added and subtracted some lines and references for clarity.

So yeah, still not in a final edit but it will be ready for Christmas as a guarantee.

Part 2 is in what I would call a skeleton stage, the audio is recorded and almost fully edited out for a timeline. What you can see in the picture is essentially how it starts on the right and how it ends (Part 1) on the left. I get all of the clips and references that effect the audio line, done ahead of time and of course my commentary.

Part 2 is currently looking to be about 2 hours and 10 minutes. The visuals will be tackled next and then the soundtrack and i'm hoping it will be finished before the end of the year, meaning we would be done with 5+ hours out of 15, so we're getting there.

It opens up with covering the scene I leave off in Part 1, just after Tekka is killed. I then move into talking about how to balance drama and comedy. This is of course brought on by Poe's joking attitude in the opening despite the two very daunting scenes that come both before and after.

This is explained with a few outside examples and a reference to one of my favourite TV Shows, and we move right on through the other elements to the scene, especially with what we know about the characters now.

I get to involve a bunch of audio commentaries that reflect the strange tonal choices in both The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi, there will be a couple of things I talk about as a sort of addendum to the TLJ Critique.

All of this includes looking into the content of the deleted scenes for both movies and more interviews/references to YouTube videos in general.

We get into the character of Rey and try to compare with a couple of other characters that you could say share a story line with her from other media, just with different conclusions. Only to go into the interesting scenes that tell us how Poe and Finn escape The First Order.

By the end of the video we jump into Rey and Finn escaping The First Order. I comment a bit on the state of droids in the universe, Rey's worrying future in terms of development, the stormtroopers in terms of world building, Kylo and Hux's relationship, the ineptitude of The First Order and more.

The two cameo's in Part 2 are from Logicked and CinemaSinsSins (Or SinsSins as he goes by now) and it will be interesting to see how you guys react to all of the guest spots because they are often radically different as ideas on Star Wars from my own.

Either way, I am working every day on this outside of maintaining EFAP weekly and a couple of guest spots of other channels. But interestingly, I got done recording something special with my friend Alex that I am going to release on New Year's Eve.

I have no idea what you guys will think and of course, if you don't end up liking it then I will never do it again but it is much quicker in terms of production and I am hoping we can build something from it, I mean, what are experiments for right?

Next update I should hopefully tell you folks about how Part 2 is close to completion, especially with the skeleton out of the way. Then I might be a bit interrupted by the ol Christmas times. I tend to have a lot of family visit and they of course, like to hang out.

But I will absolutely make sure more work is committed to.

Outside of that, I recently finished watching "The Haunting of Hill House" and my goodness, I was so utterly impressed that it has taken top slot on projects above God of War 2018 for video series' that I want to make.

So for those who want game stuff, I am so sorry but I have to follow my heart and I have a fire burning for this show already, but God of War is absolutely in second place for the big projects.

Like seriously, I already have production notes for videos on this show and i'm far from being able to even write a script haha.

At least, at that point I will have covered TV, Movies and Games, which was always the intention with this channel. With prospects being completely open in the future.

Thanks again for your support and patience folks, it means a lot to me. And thank you very much for your comments on the previous post! I like the interaction I get with you all and I hope these updates do serve as a form of insight into what you have invested in.

Be interesting to see how things go Christmas day, anxious...exited...all of the emotions...just 20 days :O.

Part 2 is on the way.

My pledge now goes towards you instead of Joseph Anderson. Been with him since his first DS videos but have less and less interest for his content.

It's all good, but if you don't include at least a few prequel memes, you'll have lost the high ground for me and I'll wish all the sand in the galaxy upon you. Just kidding, of course. I'm really looking forward to it!^^

I've been a big fan of Logicked for a couple years now and it will be interesting to see what his perspective is on TFA. I haven't seen much of SinsSins' content yet , aside from EFAP, but it will be interesting to hear his views as well.

This is all amazing, once you're done this is likely to be the most comprehensive critique of any piece of media EVER. Also, I hate to add to your workload....but I just saw a video from Jeremy Jahns (yes you heard me correctly) that outlined how the First Order lose their threatening presence due to all the yelling. It's actually pretty decent and could fit into one of the 'tangent sections' that you have. Maybe it would be worth contacting him for a guest spot (he has a huge channel and his fans probably have ADHD judging from the amount of jumpcuts he does so maybe not) but the exposure would be good.

Holy hell man that's an immense amount of work and it's one of the reasons you've become one of my favorite channels to watch. I say take all the time you need, you consistently put out videos that impress me and the people I have told about your channel. I know some people might be more impatient but I'd rather you take the time you need as well as any time you might need to get some R&R. I am not the creative type and I'm not the writing type but when I see damn fine work I can definitely appreciate it (and I'm just a regular joe) and you sir do damn fine work. This will be the first Christmas day in a long time I'll be looking forward to.

Also congrats on hitting 1 million views on TLJ Rage and Part 1 of the Critique, Wolf is still ahead tho

Dear Mr. Skull on Wheels, you should get drunk during Christmas dinner and go on a 5 hour rant about TLJ to your family, hopefully they'll love it as much as we all do. Maybe it will even help you evolve as a REAL critic ;)
