Audiobook Release: The Warden Series (Books 1 - 3)
Added 2024-10-16 14:00:13 +0000 UTCSomething that I've been thinking about for a while has finally come to fruition: release of the audiobook for The Warden Series (Books 1 - 3). The boxed set has been out for a while, so I'm happy to have the audio version done.
It wasn't as fast as when they did Warden 4, but ACX/Audible did their quality check in a pretty timely fashion and released the title. And, as usual, I'm making it available to my patrons here first. You can get a promo code for a free copy by clicking here. The plan is to get out more than one by then, but the nuance of your question isn't lost on me. The true irony here is that I actually write pretty fast and seldom get writer's block. However, the world of publishing has gotten way more complicated and continues to evolve on what feels like a daily basis, and I have to keep up because it's essentially sink-or-swim. It's also time-consuming (and that's before you consider anything that might be going on in my personal life). For instance, Amazon's "Black Friday" runs from 11/21 - 12/2, and during the time Amazon has exercised the prerogative to increase the spend on certain ads by 100%. As you might guess, my ad costs went bananas. As a result, I've spent a good portion of the last two days trying to get my ad spend under control - trying to shell out enough to keep sales coming in without putting myself in the poorhouse. (And that's just the tip of the iceberg in terms of the types of things authors have to deal with regularly - and not just from Amazon.) It's a delicate balance, but that's true of so much across the publishing spectrum these days. Long story short, the plan is release books faster, but I have to balance that against a myriad of other publishing-related issues.
