Warden (Book 4: Roost of the Roc)
Added 2022-02-28 14:04:24 +0000 UTCI'm happy to report that Warden 4 is done. This one was a bit of a challenge in a number of ways, but I'm pleased with the end product and hope readers will be as well.
As in the previous books, the story features what I tend to refer to as non-traditional monsters - quite a few of them, I'd say, in comparison to previous entries in the series. I don't want to spoil anything for readers, but I believe I've already mentioned that the Each-uisge will be in this one (in fact, that one's on the cover). There's also an appearance by a mermaid. Beyond that (and what already appears in excerpts I've posted), I'll let readers discover the other creatures for themselves.
Frankly speaking, this story provided an embarrassment of riches in terms of plotlines. Unfortunately, I couldn't incorporate them all, so a lot of great ideas got left on the cutting room floor. The good news, though, is that they can always be used in the future, and that's currently the plan.
As always, entering the Warden world was a blast, and - as with all my series - I'll make a concerted effort to do it more often.
