New Audiobook Release: Conjuration

As implied by the title of this post, I received notification just a short time ago regarding the release of the audiobook of Conjuration (Kid Sensation #9).  The turnaround on this one was incredibly fast: my narrator just finished it maybe a week ago.  It took another couple of days for me to review it and have some minor changes implemented, after which I approved it and submitted it to ACX/Audible.

I think I've mentioned in the past that ACX/Audible had an extended period where it was literally taking months for some audiobooks to get released (which was incredibly long by historical standards). I was incredibly blessed in that, during the same period, I never had to wait more than a couple of weeks for my titles to become available. (At least, I don't remember waiting much more than that.)

Anyway, in a move that admittedly took most authors by surprise, ACX stepped up its game regarding time-to-retail.  Basically, in late June, they committed to making titles that met their submision requirements available for sale within 10 business days.  More to the point, I think they've honored that commitment thus far. (For instance, I know an author who just released their first audiobook, and - as promised - it went on sale around the 10-day mark.)

In regard to Conjuration, I think I gave final approval to the audio files on August 20. Thus, I was hoping that it would be released before the end of the month, although I felt the first week of September was more likely.  Having it become available after just 4 days is practically an early Christmas present.
