Update on Kid Sensation #8

As most of my readers know by now, I usually avoid making projections about completion dates for titles. Frankly speaking, that just seems to jinx things in that something always comes up and throws a monkey wrench in my plans. That said, I'm going to go out on a limb and say that I anticipate being done with Kid Sensation #8 by the end of the month. (Fingers crossed.)
Now, that's the good news. The bad news is that my editor is solidly booked in the near term. That means I'm probably going to have to look elsewhere for editing/proofing if I want to get this one released as soon as possible. Thankfully, my editor's a professional, so I don't think this will have a long-term effect on our working relationship. (I even asked her for a recommendation.) Still, it feels a little like I'm being unfaithful.
Anyway, my usual pattern is to finish the book, fire it off to my editor, and then have my cover artist start doing his thing while the book is being proofed/edited. I believe we'll probably stick to that template for this one as well, although the routine might vary slightly if I decide to do a pre-order. The tricky thing about pre-orders, though, is that they actually delay the release because everything has to be finalized several days in advance of the actual publication date. (The benefit, as I've stated previously, is that readers know in advance the exact date the book will be available.)
Regardless, I'm rather excited about getting this one released. I think fans of the series will enjoy it - at least, I hope they will.

Thanks for being a fan, and yes - it did take me a while to get book 6 out there. Needless to say, I'm committed to not having that kind of lag between releases again. The $10 level does include early chapters and excerpts. Part of the problem, however, is that I'm exclusive to Amazon right now, and their rules forbid me from making more than 10% of my books available elsewhere. Ergo, I wouldn't be able to post/share more than 10% of the book for input without getting in trouble. On the other hand, I'll also be posting early renditions of cover art and blurbs, and I welcome feedback on those, as well as any chapters or excerpts posted.

I was wondering if you could make a 10 or even a 15 dollar tier and let us read the unedited versions of unreleased books and chapters so that we can help you proof read it and hopefully give u some feedback. thanks
