I was SO upset with the first couple of Capaldi's episodes after loving 10 and 11. It was such a shocking transition. But OMG, he is absolutely BRILLIANT as the doctor and I cannot choose a favorite. Absolutely adore him.

2025-03-30 21:29:13 +0000 UTCWelcome to Peter's doctor! He grew up with the classic era so you may see hints of classic who come through. He took me a bit to grow before I loved him. I will say, we haven't had a companion see the doctor regenerate since Rose, so I wonder if he learned from her uncertainty that it may confuse his companion and that's why Matt calls Clara. I think it really helped. Especially for newer fans of the show. For those who didn't watch classic who (like me) seeing the doctor go from young to much older was a shock (though I know the classic doctors were all older) so it was nice to get that little call to help with the transition. Peter will only get better from here! Also, you finally met Missy! I love the confusion you had, something i'm sure most of us have gone through.

2025-03-30 00:13:03 +0000 UTCI'll chime in with others to say Capaldi is the GOAT. He is a slow burn and takes quite a few episodes to reel most of us in. Capaldi wanted to make his Doctor less user-friendly, like Doctors 1-4 who he grew up with.

We know this because, in Capaldi's one shot in the 50th anniversary, the background is 11's TARDIS interior still (he had not redecorated). So he left, saved Gallifrey, and redecorated before going back to get Clara

2025-03-26 11:41:40 +0000 UTCWELCOME TO PETER’S ERA !!!!! 🥳🥳🥳 the new intro is GORGEOUS, takes a lot of leafs out of Classic Who’s book both in audio in visuals 🤩 SO glad you enjoyed 12’s introduction!! he’s a very different Doctor and sometimes it takes a bit to warm to him, but he is just so !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! translating the dinosaur is the first glimpse we get beyond this Doctor’s blunt surface 🥺 this era has some of the BEST dialogue in the entire show imo (especially from Peter), so keep a notepad and pen handy 📝🙂↕️ and well done for getting the references to The Girl In The Fireplace !!! you’d be surprised how many miss those! if in doubt, a reference to David’s era will always seal an episode 😌 “you look at me but you cant see me” DONNA NOBLE ANYONE 😀😀😀 MISSY !!!!!!!!!!!!!! MISSAAAAAYYYYYYYYY !!!!!!!!!!!!! she’s the favourite unnamed female character I mentioned to you very vaguely a while back 🤭 your frowny reaction to her had me laughing SO MUCH, just utter bewilderment and slightly disturbed 😭 yeah Peter sort of had to point out he’d been in the Whoniverse before bc England has a total of 7 actors yk
