Update 14th April 2021 + Introduction of Funding Backlog Multiplier

Hey, sorry this update is a bit delayed. Last few days have mostly been dedicated to my attempts to quit drinking. Has caused a loss of productivity in short term but in long term it will have a great impact.

Right so, firstly I hope you enjoyed the casino video as much as I hoped. It honestly was a bit of a prototype for a game I am making where it combines JOI with well, games! If you have any feedback on that aspect let me know. I was obviously somewhat limited in games with the video format but did the best I could. Oh and as for the game, don't expect it anytime soon. But eventually it will be glorious.

Secondly, thank you all for the survey responses. The turnout was pretty overwhelming and has helped me a lot. I'll post a summary of results here in the next week or so.

Funding backlog multiplier

Now let's tackle the other new thing, that big scary thing in the title, the FBM. No, not feelsbadman but the Funding Backlog Mulitplier. It was something I talked about before, but here I am to officially announce it and give some concrete numbers. So first of all, this will be implemented in May, the rest of this month is the same as usual.

Okay, so what is the FBM? Simply put, it's something to help me deal with the growing backlog. The bigger the backlog is, the less your funding counts and the more expensive BB coins are. This is important as my patreon is growing so much and I need a system that can account for growth. The fact that this scales makes it perfect.

It should be stated this is is only for crowdfunded videos. The recent customised video option I added is not affected by this and will receive full funding. (Nudge nudge wink wink)

I've put together a basic spreadsheet that tracks the current backlog and goes over the hard numbers.

I will also have the current FBM listed on the crowdfunding website and will post it in weekly updates/when I complete videos. The FBM will update daily and you can track the spreadsheet above to micromanage my progress. My realistic target for video progress is 80 minutes per month without new videos added.

So, with this introduced in May there is realistically going to be a sudden drop in your ability to fund videos for a few months. I am sorry to those who mostly support me to get videos funded, but the current rate of funding is just unsustainable. In the long run this is good as it means the funded videos will get made sooner anyway.
