We had a lot of fun with this one and figured out a way to set it within the season (it's set one year ago, December 2020). I've been trying to find a way to make a video about The Nice Guys for years. Look, it's Christmas, so I'm overdue for a Shane Black-related video.

It seems there's a lot to say about the current state of what audiences are drawn to (how much money did the Emoji movie make?). After watching The Matrix Resurrections, all I could think was just how rare those kinds of movies are and how this may be the last Matrix movie directed by a Wachowski. My fear is that they're just going to reboot the whole thing and follow the Marvel Studios template of simple, shallow spectacle with nothing to say except "isn't the Matrix cool?"
