How Star Wars Trailers Weaponize Nostalgia

I'm back! For real this time!

I mostly took is easy over the past month and thankfully had a couple videos already shot that I could release. And now I'm recharged and relaxed and actually having fun making videos again.

(which is not to say that the process of making this one was not difficult and exhausting)

I have a weird obsession with movie trailers. Search back through the channel and you can see I've made a lot of fake ones or re-edited ones. And I'm so glad I FINALLY found a way to make a video about them. And it also might be the only way I can make a Star Wars video without a bunch of people screaming at me. Actually I'm sure that will happen anyway.

Also: big thanks to composer Brian Metolius for making an appearance in this video to break down the music of the latest Rise of Skywalker trailer

Also, my name wasn't in the supporters section this time for some reason

Great video! Really enjoyed the connections with the music and how they were able to blend them

The music theory segment of the video was absolutely terrific. Well done, as always.

Big fan - take your time, you will be much happier with the results in the long run :)

WELCOME BACK and great video! I love a good trailer and seeing you break down the ones for the new trilogy has given me a new appreciation for them. (Side note: If you’re interested, I did a not as good as yours look at a bunch of Star Wars teaser trailers a while ago - https://youtu.be/_9Kw0CK3CpM)

What's your opinion on NOT watching trailers? I haven't seen any Rise of Skywalker trailers because I get too "hyped" up by them and I tend not to enjoy the movie as much. And glad you're rested and recharged.

Yaaaay welcome back!
