We did it. It's done. A whole trilogy of videos adding up to the length of a feature film. Good lord.
For this video, Griffin Newman joined me for a discussion about the MCU and the future of superhero movies. I'm a big fan of Griffin's work, from his fantastic podcast Blank Check, to the Amazon show The Tick, where he plays Arthur, the main character, to the wonderfully bizarre monthly UCB show The George Lucas Talk Show (if you're ever in NYC on the first Friday of a month, check it out). I was thrilled that he agreed to appear in the episode, and I can't overstate how much he added to it.
In fact, I uploaded the entire 75-minute discussion to YouTube.
The past 6 or so weeks working on this project have been exhausting, but I'm really happy with how it all turned out. I've been trying to work out what I wanted to say about these movies for the past year, and I think I got it. After leaning kind of negative in the first 2 parts, I wanted this one to be more hopeful and give some closure to the subject. I think we got there.
And of course, a huge thanks to Jake, Matt, Chloe, and Mike for all their help making these happen.
