As I mentioned back in April when I made the Fast & Furious video, I liked the format a lot and thought it had potential to become a recurring thing. And now it has officially recurred!
While these are more videos where I talk enthusiastically about movies, what separates them from the video essays (aside from the visual presentation) is that these don't really have a thesis beyond "I love this thing." So I think these benefit from the framing device and actually having me on camera talking. Plus my parents are wonderful and I love featuring them in the videos.
And this time I listened to all the suggestions and made sure to have the bottle of whiskey totally deplete over the course of the video.
This video is pretty self-explanatory. I think the 1993 animated movie Batman: Mask of the Phantasm is the best Batman that's ever been made so I talked about it at length.
A couple things:
1. We're going to hit 100,000 subscribers tonight. That's insane. I'll talk more about that later.
2. After being out of town a lot recently (thus all the non-fiction videos) I'll finally be back in the city full-time on Monday which means a big return of narrative videos. The team will finally be back! And we've got some great stuff planned for the summer.
