Patrick Explains the Fast and the Furious (and Why It's Great)
Added 2017-04-07 00:48:28 +0000 UTCLast summer when I mentioned to Jake that I was thinking of doing weekly videos again and doing some less narrative stuff like video essays, he immediately replied, "You should do a video for your Fast & Furious monologue."
Some background: since 2011 I have become something of a Fast & Furious evangelist. I really love these movies, and whenever someone tells me they've never seen them, I tend to launch into a speech about why they should.
That speech is pretty much exactly what this video is.
The eighth movie, The Fate of the Furious opens next week (I am crazy excited for it), so I'm trying this new thing where I actually schedule videos for when they're topical.
ALSO: my parents make an appearance in this one. I think they're absolutely hilarious, so hopefully people like them. I would love an excuse to bring them back.
After I shot this I realized this could be a series, where I arrive at my parents' house unannounced, drinking heavily, and monologue about something I'm really enthusiastic about. I have no other ideas at the moment, but the format is flexible.
