Spooky House
Added 2017-02-23 16:08:05 +0000 UTCThis is day late due to my severely underestimating the amount of work it would require. I'm really trying to stick to the Wednesday upload schedule, so hopefully as we go on I'll get better at planning the production timeline.
So this is a new narrative short that I will be the first to admit is like 30-60 seconds too long. It was originally planned a bit more to specificaly be about overused jump scare setups in horror movies, which I realized while editing is easier said than done. I still think it generally works, but I had intended it to be a bit more about one specific trope.
Probably the biggest challenge with this thing was that I ended up acting in it, due to having the schedule and location shift around and none of the regulars being available. My sister, Mary (who also makes an appearance in the video), was a huge help, doing the majority of the camera operating.
It was also very much a cinematography exercise, as I wanted to try more minimal lighting, with generally low light and most coming from practicals. I can confirm that the RX100 IV does pretty well in that kind of situation.
Also we built a fake torso and stabbed it a bunch, which was fun.
