I'm sure he's just rolling with the bit at this point and seems very happy with where his career is at the moment. I'm sure I could've asked him about this but I'm sure he would've just made jokes. Kicked back for about 45 min and we talked about sports and comedy, dude clearly has money still and a lot of time, he bought about 3k worth of seafood for his sisters b day party

It's all really sad tbh - Nate Diaz is beloved so fans don't talk about it too much, as CTE is mostly used as an insult to hated guys like Schaub, but many have joked about CTE with Nate as well - his past opponent Masvidal even said it in an interview and if you look at Nate's speech before/after his career.. it's not looking good for him (another example is Max Holloway - again, another fan-favorite so it doesn't get discussed much, but his slurred speech is getting really rough IMO. And it's a good example of how brain trauma works - neither Nate nor Max have ever been truly Knocked Out, they are both known for having legendary chins/being able to take punches without going down, which is great for a fighter but clearly TERRIBLE for your brain - getting punched 100+ times is likely worse for your brain than getting KO'd - thankfully, Schaub had the opposite problem lol, but being easier to KO as your career progresses is also not a good sign) but ya, seeing Nate's tweet to Schaub was kinda sad because if you know Nate and how he acts, I think it's very obvious why he reacted like he did... he's heard others mention him and CTE, maybe he's worried about it, or even worse.. maybe he's already seeing early side effects, so he responded like he did I'm a Nate Diaz fan (and his fanbase as a fighter is 100x the size Schaub's ever was, he's a real living legend) but he's being dumb. responding to Schaub's story like he did was wack. Nate has kids (just like Schaub's friend), the brain trauma is a really sad thing *especially* as a father - Nate has made $10s of millions now, has a family, ideally he would hear Schaub's story and introspect (lol) and maybe even consider retiring for good - but he will likely keep doing boxing fights unfortunately (Also, not that anyone needs an "expert opinion" on this, but any UFC fan can tell you that Schaub could murder Nate if he wanted to - it's just the reality of weight classes) it's funny to think about because it's such a meme, but the "you'd be surprised" JRE talk may have truly saved Brendan from being even more of a vegetable than he is/may become - if only guys like Nate had better people around him to encourage his hanging up of the gloves - Joe is a real one for that honestly I hope CTE spares Schaub & Diaz and the rest, but even if they don't get CTE, the damage has already been done and there is 100% some level of damage that cannot be undone who knows, maybe Schaub crying on his podcast saved a fighter or two from CTE /end rant Btw LOVE when UFC content makes its way onto your page @lazy - I'm sure there are others who agree
