Ch8 pages 6-9 WIP

This might give a little insight as to how I allocate my time while working in batches. The first 3 pages are mostly done, and the last one hasn't been touched. I had a really clear idea of what I wanted from the first two pages, you can see there weren't many changes from the thumbnails to this stage. Pages 3 and on, not so much. I tend to revise later thumbnails as the first pages come together for better flow, so the last pages in a batch tend to deviate from my initial plans.

This pattern can also be scaled up to understand what happens to the scripts for the overall chapter as I work lol

I'm intending to play with the scroll format of Tapas during this update, so if this ever comes to print, that'll be a fun little problem to tackle. I do expect this update to be another 5 pages in total length, inches wise, but they'll run together. The non-rigid formats comics can take is something I don't mess with much, simply because my main inspirations are printed. I did read a lot of webcomics starting around 2005, and it's been really cool to see how they've started to take advantage of the digital format as time goes on. Webcomics used to be a lot more niche than they are now, and a lot of them followed a page-by-page format more akin to the comics and manga being printed at the time. Flash was the other Big Creative Deal online back then; and as much as it gets clowned on, Homestuck/MSPaint Adventures was an incredibly creative application of the multimedia possibilities the internet opened up to the comics format.  BLBL is a love/hate letter to yaoi manga, so the format will mostly stay within the boundaries of printable media, but even that has opportunities for a little deviation now and again.

It's also almost the 4 year anniversary! Holy shit! I do have a pinup in the works, but I also have commissions, pages, my job and my personal life to attend to so I'm doing my best to have that ready by Saturday. Wise words from poets past have resonated in my mind recently, as the truth within them cannot be denied- the years start comin' and they don't stop comin'.  Thank you for spending some of those years checking in with me and my works!
