The practical effects for this film are out of this world! (pun intended)
I am so impressed by this film. John Carpenter knows how to make a good film, there's no doubt about that.
It's so smart to have the movie start that way, yet there's always something suspicious about it. The Swedish team were not going to stray from their goal at all!

The right clicking twice is a bit tricky, because you have to right click, then move your cursor so it's not on the menu, then right click again

The mystery aspect is so nice!! The whole movie is planned so nicely to keep up suspense and keep us guessing who is human and who has been assimilated.

2025-10-17 22:09:38 +0000 UTCWhile its mostly considered horror I like to think of this one more of a mystery, horror is almost always a comedy of errors but the truly great ones like this, are a battle of wits where several technical and capable individuals employing problem solving and overcoming their own fears to defeat the creature. Russell can manage a diverse type of roles, my 4 favorites are all very distinct but very fun characters. The thing. Big trouble little china that you mentioned, also statgate and Captain Ron.
