There are all kinds of movies, and this one slides into the pure fun slot!!
A lot of times villains have fascinating back stories. How they came to be a baddie is always something that interests me. The intro to this one was great for that!

I watched a video on how they made the movie, and given what they were going for, they did an excellent job… except for the part about making money. I like it though. I love the blasts of color, the music, the choreography, and the cast.

The Birds of Prey are an actual group of the comics. It was started by Black Canary and Barbara Gordon( formerly Batgirl, however when she was paralyzed by the Joker who shot her in the spine in the award-winning “The Killing Joke” graphic novel she became Oracle who is an information broker and tech wizard). It usually consists of a core group of Black Canary, Huntress, and Barbara Gordon. It is kinda amazing the Harley Quinn was created in 1992 in an episode of “Batman the Animated Series” and was meant to be a one-off character. However she became so popular that she added to the comics and has become an important part of the DC universe. Her relationship with the Joker is always the same and is extremely toxic. He couldn’t care less if she died, however she is absolutely devoted to him. When she does finally realize that he doesn’t care about her and she leaves him, it gets interesting. She usually gets into a relationship with Pamela Isley, also known as Poison Ivy who Harley affectionately calls “Red”. This relationship started out as a friendship and has blossomed into a full romantic relationship and even marriage. This relationship is based on mutual respect and love. Black Canary is an interesting character and one of the earliest female characters in DC created in 1947. The one in this movie is the second Black Canary, who is the daughter of the original Black Canary named Dinah Drake and inherited her “Canary Cry”( which the what her ultra sonic scream is called). She is a world class martial artist who is skilled in many forms of fighting. She is often in a relationship with Oliver Queen, who is known as Green Arrow. Huntress is an extremely interesting character. There are multiple people who take on the mantle of the Huntress. On Earth-2 the Huntress is Helena Wayne, who is the daughter of Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle Wayne( who are better known as Batman and Catwoman respectively), and was trained to be a successor to Batman and was mostly raised by her mother, who was unfortunately killed by a criminal which made Helena take up the fight. Her story is rather confusing since it has multiverse shenanigan that takes her to another Earth with her best friend Supergirl. However this one is Helena Bertinelli, whose backstory is the same in the comics and is usually more of an anti-hero, mostly because she is willing to kill which is the one rule Batman won’t break. Renee Montoya was also created for “Batman the Animated Series”. However in that she is a young promising detective partnered with Harvey Bullock and working with Commissioner Gordon. She is the current person who has taken up the mantle of The Question who wears a special mask that makes it look like the wearer has no face and trench coat and is a master investigator on par with Batman, who is known as “The Worlds Greatest Detective”. Cassandra Cain is known by the hero name of Orphan. She is the daughter of two world class assassins and was trained from birth to be the world’s greatest assassin. She worked for the League of Assassins. She never learned how to speak or read by her mother, however she was taught how to “read” body language and developed incredible ability to do so bridging on precognition. She remains mute and illiterate as a result, her mother even had her voice box surgical removed in some versions. However she escaped the League was adopted by Bruce Wayne and even assumed the mantle of Batgirl for a while. She is one of the 5 children of Bruce( 4 of them are adopted and 1 biological child named Damien Wayne, with Talia al Ghul, who is the current Robin) and the only girl. Roman Sionis is usually a pretty standard mob boss who is extremely wealthy that has basically made him untouchable. His mask was originally made out of the wood of his mother’s coffin and has been burned onto his skin and has basically become his face. Victor Zsasz is usually considered one of the darkest Batman villains and isn’t depicted in a lot of media because of this and he is absolute psychopath who loves to “liberate others from their pointless existence” by killing them by slitting their throats and then posing them in life like poses to be found. After killing, he cuts tally marks for his victims into his own skin to mark his accomplishment. He is usually depicted as having tally marks all over his body.
