I'm sure all of that was a set. Only when the little dog is killed do you get to see closeups of everyone's face. Favorite Hitchcock film is "Shadow of a Doubt" 1943 starring Joseph Cotton (Citizen Kane) and Teresa Wright (Best Years of our Lives).
