“Stone-like predator, a yartaq splits itself open to inject a needle - usually on the lower limbs of its victim, filling them with its eggs, which then travel through the bloodstream. An ysleria’s inner body temperature is enough to carry the eggs to maturity, who then hatch quickly. This will then allow the larvae to feast on the prey’s organs.

The needle immediately numbs the region it lands on, so if you don’t have a druid or an alchemist or with the appropriate elixirs nearby, you’ll die horribly in under a couple of days, and your corpse will burst open with what looks like an ocean of pebbles - a new generation of freshly birthed yartaqs.
