Fullmetal Alchemist will always have a special place in my heart as the manga who got me interested in mangas. It wasn't quite my first (I've ready Dragon Ball and Saint Seiya before), but it was the first to grab me to this extent, and left me wanting to what else the world of manga and anime had to offer.
Really glad you enjoyed it - and I'd definitely be down for a Fullmetal Alchemist (2003) reaction down the line, if you ever go that route. Your discussions have been on point, like always!

This anime is foundational. 2003 FMA scarred me and brotherhood healed it.

I'd love to open Patreon next Thursday and see a "surprise" FMA:B bloopers reaction :P

Blooper reel is a must-watch! I initially watched the show in sub, but by the end I had also seen enough scenes in the dub to appreciate the bloopers. As another commenter suggested, maybe watch an episode or two in the dub first to get used to the voices, and then watch the bloopers. Dub is great for a rewatch too. Both voice casts are excellent.
Highly recommend the manga as well. FMAB generally follows it, while FMA '03 adds a lot of its own material even before it diverges completely. FMA '03 also adapts a few of the "bonus" chapters and omakes. I haven't watched '03, but the people I know who like it REALLY like it.
However, FMAB doesn't fully adapt the chapters on Ishval, and those are absolutely worth reading even if you don't read the rest. The added content brings even more nuance and anguish to that event.

2003 has a much more solid character fundation, while Brotherhood exceeds on the plot. And, while is comprehensive and resonant enough, Brotherhood does work with the assumption its audience watched 2003

No one will talking me out believeing the picture with Hayate and its puppies is not implying Riza and Roy had kids of their own

I've never seen the blooper reel, but I'd definitely be interested in watching it with you guys! That being said, maybe you should try and watch the final episode again in dub, since almost all of the characters speak in it and you can get adjusted to hearing them in their dubbed voices as well. Then watch the blooper reel.

i love the symbolism of pride being the only homunculi given a second chance and to survive the whole ordeal. it verifies the constant theme of can the homunculi live in tandem with the human race.
if the most despicable one could be redeemed and live in peace then it can happen.

Local FMA:2003 enjoyer here,
2003 is better up to the point of the introduction of Izumi(about Episode 12 of FMA Brotherhood and 27 of 2003.) After that, the two diverge rather drastically and I don't think it's fair to even consider them the same story.

Is this not one of if not the best endings a series can have though? No really 10 out of 10 ending. Endings can only be on par not above this in my opinion.

Also congrats on finishing one of the best anime. I still like One Piece, MT and Made in Abyss more but FMA:B is a classic and probably one of the anime I suggest to almost anyone.
