Roy was referring to being able to transmute without an array/transmutation circle. His gloves are specific to his flame alchemy. But when he transmuted the wall, he only had to clap. Also lovely interpretation regarding Riza and Roy. Her using flame alchemy via Mustang, quite literally being a firearm she’s aiming, very clever. They’re so much symbolism with those two.
