Some bad news for Kaede: https://www.japantimes.co.jp/news/2026/01/23/japan/society/japan-china-panda-diplomacy/ Luckily the story’s chronology means that Kaede still has nearly 10 years to enjoy the pandas.

2026-01-21 13:54:01 +0000 UTCOn the subject of going to see the pandas, when I went to watch this at the cinema my ticket came with a free short story from the author, “Rascal Dreams of an Animal Land”. It sets out the day that all of them actually do go to the zoo. Of course not much happens, but it’s still a good read. I won’t spoil anything, but it’s a must-read for Kaede fans.
