2003 definitely has filler, especially in the 1st quarter. is not Naruto levels of filler where they're completely pointless and can perfectely be skipped, they have some substance to chew on, but they're definitely filler. Not saying 2003 is bad, I actually think its darker tone is actually a tad better than Brotherhood that is more action oriented and I like how it looks much more than Brotherhood

The title is in fact about all the girls: Winry, Riza, Lan Fan, and May! ^^ The older FMA anime doesn't really have 'fillers' as such - it's just that the pacing followed the manga and so is comparatively 'slower' at the beginning. I'll also copy+paste my comment from your YT post: I'd strongly recommend watching the FMA 2003 (Brotherhood is from 2009) anime! As some commented, it was the pre-manga-completion version which took a lot of interesting artistic liberties, but from memory also collaborated with the mangaka (Hiromu Arakawa - an absolute master of her craft!) so the end result was an amazing show, with comparatively darker tone/themes. I personally love both with a slight bias towards the 'original' but more importantly, unlike many, I consider both to be equally good and feel very lucky to have 2 quality versions of this iconic story!
