Kaiki is my favourite Monogatari character, because despite his demeanour he casually spits hard hitting truths without a care in the world, while being a con man who's words cannot be trusted. Like how he basically said to Senjougahara that she's not the protagonist of her own story, she's just a girl that went through a horrible experience and needs to move forward whether or not there will be closure, because often times there is no closure. Or when he proudly described himself as an impostor even before Araragi says it, and from what we've learned in this arc, an impostor can be more real than the real thing. And the way he apologises knowing nothing he says will ring true for Senjou or Araragi, and so he just says it as an afterthought technically fulfilling their request, but not actually satisfying it. He's my top 3 anime villain of all time. Or is he a hero? Because while he can't ever meaningfully increase the overall amount of happiness in the world, he can increase the amount of money he has, thus satisfying at least one person. And so isn't that a more meaningful, and therefore a more noble pursuit to have? ;)
