2024-09-24 19:34:28 +0000 UTCCasual Mineta W. I love that Mineta represents the average joe, born with an "useless" Quirk and who just wanted to be cool and accepted for who he was. When he tells Midoriya "I never thought your power was anything cool, it's scary! But you were the coolest when you was shaking scared", I could feel how the immature scared middle schoolers from S1 dedicated his heart until he stood firm against the Demon Lord. Just like how Mt. Lady is the first hero we meet that's chasing fam and enjoying the hero perks, but despite that, she never backs down when there's a fight to be had. I just love how this series has such human characters.

I'll also add this: all Quirks are physical abilities, so they all come with limits and costs, even the most busted ones. AFO takes the DNA markers that create Quirk Cells, meaning that he steals your ability to have Quirks manifest. So, if you were to Rewind Hawks, his body literally no longer has a way to recreate those additional cells. There's also the thing about vestiges, slivers of consciousness engrained into the Quirk. Just like Allmight physically exists externally, but the vestige of Allmight is connected through OFA separately, AFO would still have Hawks' Vestige. Essentially, you can't rewind to find the Quirk in the past because it still exists in the present.
