Oshi No Ko 2x7, 8 & 9: "Sun," "Trigger" & "Dream" // Reaction and Discussion

I know a lot of reactors that did the bulk reactions, and literally in next episodes they uploaded or even in the same bulk of episodes, they didnt know the names of main characters.... let alone the point of their char XD. So idk what is bro talking about, that point is invalid. IT just depends on people's investment in the series, which they are clearly invested in it, and they will end up rewatching it/reading manga/novel material aswell down the line maybe.

Vladi

Considering Ben and Anna tend to have literal notebooks with them, I think saying they'll completely forget people feels disingenuous to the way they've approached reactions up until now. Despite whatever personal issues they run into, I've never seen them engage with a series shallowly and they don't deserve to have their integrity questioned simply because you want your product right now. I think it's reasonable to upset about the delays and the lack of info, but they're humans with needs. Recording can take hours, dedicated time and attention, especially with these discussion lengths. If you supported them enough to be here, then please don't tear them down. It cost you $10 bucks for Patreon, but it cost nothing to be kind.

@Gromzi, I want to know where that narrative came from. They are quite attentive and they enjoy what they're watching

DrWomanRespecter

Dude, LOL. You're like legitimately assuming the worst for no reason. They aren't your basic no effort reactors.

DrWomanRespecter

Just spitballing here but maybe the lack of updates is due to the mods (or whoever "runs" their channel) not doing their jobs, rather than them not caring or whatever other reason. They might not even be aware of the shitstorm going on every time this situation happens, considering (I assume?) all the interactions with the viewers go through the mods

Igor Eisen

Yaeh, sure. It does seem like there is at least some kind of passion. But that wont do a thing if they already forgot abt Kanbaru next time she appears. Or take Kaiki for example. Its just very unlikely theyll remember the role he played in Hitagi Crab and Nadeko Snake by the time he appears in Nisemonogatari. Thatll be more than two months. And then, another 6 months pass til he plays a central role in Koimonogatari and by then they definitely forgot abt the details of Hitagi Crab after a one year gap. I just dont believe the way theyre approaching it is a good one. Id like them to have the best experience with this anime and dont understand why they seem to enjoy it that much, yet it seems like theyre trying to get the worst experience out of it.

My subscription atomatically renewed so I guess I get to watch two more chapters of monogatari and 86 this month

Higu Art

Idk how people see it as they are all in for the money, when what we have is the opposite: Lack of uploads, less views, people start worrying in the comments and cancel subscriptions... Also compared to other people that have watched the same shows, many of them did do the bulk reactions, and then it was never mentioned again or their discussions were short and not even about the show. We all a gree the more updates would be good, but we all know the bigger anime youtubers and how they farm money, its nothing like this lol.

Vladi

just stop waiting based on their post schedule, they always post an episode exactly one week after the previous one, and since last week they are having delay ( due to anna trap in hurricane when she was in europe) it's mean the next monogatari series will drop one weeks after that ( which mean next day), i agree that they haven't been consistent on their schedule but at least see the history before u accused them not posting it for this weeek

bystander

Yeah I agree, absolutely adore their discussions and I don't mind some delays here and there, but I really wish they would give some sort of update on what the situation is, why the delays are happening/when they think they might be back

wahoo_jpeg

Frustration over delays is fair given there just was a one or two week-long one with no communication except after the fact, but assumptions about motive or intent aren't justified in my opinion. With the reliability of things causing delays the "unpredictable" circumstances of life feel pretty predictable, which makes me wonder if they have considered trying to do batch recordings or watching 1-2 episodes ahead with timed releases

Daniel

I understand the frustration and it's reasonable to be on either side of if the $10/month is worth it or not. But if they were truly just in it for the money, they'd at least provide timely updates considering the amount of patrons they have. I'm sure a lot of patrons have recently cancelled their subscriptions due to a lack of communication combined with not adhering to their proposed schedule over the past few months, and that will certainly be quite a loss of potential money. I think it's quite obvious they are invested in Monogatari and are loving it so far based on their reactions and detailed discussions, so don't equate a lack of volume with a lack of passion. While I also wish they'd provide more consistent updates and ways to interact with their community, I am personally going to support them for a few reasons. The quality of their content has not diminished. I also know how debilitating mental health issues can be and want to support them. Lastly, I love these two!

Russell Gambardella

Eh, I wouldn't be so hard on them. I don't buy the narrative that they're just "in it for the money" and don't enjoy what they watch. They seem very invested in all reactions I've seen. Isn't it more likely that some personal stuff keeps coming up for them, and they started too many shows to watch at once? The only thing I have an issue with right now is the lack of any updates about delays. I'm willing to bear with it though because their discussions are in the league of their own when compared to other reactors.

Gromzi

fr like what are the 10$ even for? Just dont watch it at this point. theyre gonna be done in two years. you wont remember anything at that point. just in for the money and stretch it as far as possible. Other, decent content creators watch stuff and the money comes second. They actually enjoy the show they watch and will go for a couple of ep per sitting if they are invested into the show. One reaction i saw, the guy ended up watching the entirety of koimonogatari (6ep) in one sitting bc he was invested that much, while he was planning to do only 2 ep per week. but no, they couldnt do that. that would be 6 weeks worth of membership money. probably 7 to 8 at the current rate. if you enjoy a show, watch it like you enjoy it. watch it like youd be watching a show normally and not as if youd clock in everyday for 25mins of your "anime watching shift". And dont even get me started on the community interaction

Dominik Lux

I agree that if its multiple episodes in 1, there is technically less discussion about it, but its still good discussions.

Vladi

I though one of the new shows would be starting today 😔

BigManSirob

Yeah, it's entirely possible that the whole "it's gotta be the dad" thing is just misdirection. Either way, I get the feeling we're getting close to something big this season, especially after this episode.

KenthalasAT

First off, I don't read the manga either, and I feel it's to early for me to speculate exactly who the accomplice is.... but there's little things in the anime said and not said that I feel nobody talks about... and I can't be the only one who thinks so.... like the fact that Ai was never shown to actually tell the father on the phone where they live...she might have never told him... then the only ones to know, in Aqua's eyes, would be the manager, but in turn also his wife, who are the only two we know for sure knew.... and then in this episode the director nonchalantly says he has some acting experience... which I feel will be important on finding out who the father could be... I'm not sold on the father being the one... but someone close to the father perhaps... manager.... to early for me to say...

Sparky Reynolds

No Monogatari this week? :(

Joseph Joestar

Who is waiting for monogatari?

Leonardo Penazzi

My theory is that it's not actually Aqua's father, but actually that person's wife. She found out her husband was cheating with this underage girl and took her out of the picture out of jealousy. And I have this silly idea that it's Arima Kana's father/mother involved in this. Since her mother was badmouthing Ai all the way back when they first met.

KenthalasAT

I have a theory about who Ai's killer is. I mean, I realize it was the stalker in the absolute sense, but I mean the person who was the stalker's accomplice that pointed that kid at Ai like a weapon. Just to say, I have NOT read the manga/LN and I have no idea what's coming after this episode, so this is pure speculation, and I'd appreciate anyone who does know if I'm right or wrong please don't spoil either me or Autosave. :)

KenthalasAT

well actually I think there was a flow what is HIMEKAWA, maybe we could get and easy for them to predict ^^; anyway ur kind, I like such calm atomosphere I was noisy^^;

I wanna add this little bit to the discussion about Ruby. Imagine being Ruby and seeing Akane channel Ai for the reality TV show. It must be a bit shaking, but maybe that just an eerie coincidence....then again, remember how Ruby looked at the idea of Aqua and Akane risking teen pregnancy? So, now you're in the crowd, watching your brother who has been shut down and contained his whole life have a mental breakdown on stage over the death of someone who keeps acting like Ai. In a world of actors and entertainment and secrets, if lying is love, then honesty must be a betrayal, pain, an act of hate.

Amir Shipp

this is what i was afraid of - a repeat of frieren 1-4. sure we get so many episodes at once, but we dont get to soak and focus on each episode and have a meaty discussion for each one, instead we get an overview discussion across 3 episodes... oh well. thanks for catching up at least ^o^

Nut Kon

I don't know why but I remember their posting S1 #6→7 on YT was also fast.

koax I.N

rewatch the director and Ai's first meeting. Its very strange, to say the least.
