2025-07-14 17:30:15 +0000 UTCThere's one more element linking oligarchs to the corrupt trio of government, the mob and private wealth. Money laundering is not something that is done solely for ill-gotten gains. It is done to avoid taxes. Thus it is a criminal activity engaged in by the rich world-wide to hide and protect their wealth even when legitimately earned. It naturally weds them to the underworld of criminal banking. One more illegal spoke in the corrupt wheel that drives Capitalism. Indeed the volume of funds hidden to avoid taxes likely exceeds even drugs, arms and human trafficking--and must be protected by the corrupt capitalist regime.
