His dissertation is entitled, Making Democracy Safe for Empire: A History and Political Economy of the National Endowment for Democracy, United States Agency for International Development, and Twenty-First Century Media Imperialism.
In this episode, we discuss two of Ben’s latest articles for CovertAction Magazine, both of which deal with the US dirty war on Syria. The first article is “The U.S.A.’s Longest ‘Democracy’ Project in Syria Has Resulted in the Empowerment of Al-Qaeda.” The second article, soon to be published, is “Western Soft Power Agencies Established a Support Front for Armed Insurrection in Syria led by al-Qaeda-Linked Rebels.”

The Anglo-American Empire has nurtured Religious Fundamentalism among Hindus, Jews, and Christians for 100 years as a bulwark against socialism: US Corporations nurtured right-wing pro-Capitalist prosperity theology in Evangelical churches to fight against the New Deal -- and these RW Evangelical Churches are spread by American missionaries to Uganda. Brazil, Guatemala... British and US Empires nurtured the Hindutva BJP party for 100 years as a bulwark against the socialist Congress Party. The Billionaire Zionists are nurturing extremist right-wing-Jewish Chabad movement in hundreds of cities and towns in the US, who follow Meir Kahane and support the extremist violent Settler movement in Israel. The CIA nurtured Opus Dei as a bulwark against Liberation Theology. The CIA nurtured the Falun Gong in China. These harsh sectarian right-wing violent religious cults are created and used by the US-UK to fight the empire's enemies and often pitted against each other to create tension and competition among their vassals--such a diabolical mind-fuck deployed by Empire to destroy socialism, anti-imperialist-nationalism, and human solidarity.
