Like you noticed, is it the episode where you can start making actual deductions based on the information you've got so far, and it just turns the series upside down. And on top of that, it's an emotional gut-wrencher that just doesn't stop even after the credits. I can't wait for the rest of the series' reactions.

2024-07-16 08:55:09 +0000 UTCIn episode 6 I think, right after Tarao dies, the Director says something about the kids being adapted to being immune to disease so whatever they're contracting seems entirely unique. Remember that Maru isn't "curing" anyone with the Maru Touch, he's killing them by destroying their heart or core(like the one we saw after Tarao was cremated). Usami says that if Hoshio dies from the disease she'll become a Man Eater, which is why he needs the guarantee of Maru's ability to let her die as a human.
