2024-12-21 13:05:41 +0000 UTCIf the mob were behind Dealey Plaza, the State would have destroyed the mob. The US State is too violent and powerful to live alongside organized crime. To me organized crime and the fascist elements are both fostered by the State. Scorcese - who has done more to mythologize the mob as a non political element of society - points at a link between the mobsters around the Teamsters and Dealey Plaza in The Irishman but I just can't buy it. If the mob had offed the Head of Government, the mob wouldn't exist anymore. I am more convinced by the Continuity of Government crowd you point at, Aaron, than much around the Teamsters. As much as ogranized labor needs to be controlled by the capitalist state.
