Down to the Wire (Gray Alliance 2 - AE191)

Aaron Good and Max Arvo continue to explore the evolution of American organized crime. In particular, we discuss the key importance of the racing wire service and the obscured nature of mid-20th century American organized crime: Did mafia or La Cosa Nostra models really apply? Or alternatively, were the ethnic Italian elements, which seem to confirm those theories, merely the lower and thus more visible levels of a larger and more nefarious entity—the Lansky Syndicate?

Special thanks Dana Chavarria for the sound engineering and to Casey Moore for the episode art!

Regarding the cartel comment, I think that's starting to unravel since the new administration of Mexico, with the conviction of a security advisor of Felipe Calderon being an actual drug facilitator and working with the DEA and the unsanctioned extradition of El mayo Zambada with no trace of the airplane that even passed control air space, think we're gonna hear more and more of this international organized crime

A PhD is supposed mean that the degreeholder has made original contributions to the field, but not all PhD holders have actually done that. Dr. Good deserves his degree because he is exceeding his predecessors.
