Charles Derber is Professor of Sociology at Boston College. He has written 26 books on politics, democracy, fascism, corporations, capitalism, climate change, war, the culture wars, and social change. Yale Magrass is a Chancellor Professor of Sociology at University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth. He is the author/co-author of nine books and 80 articles. His work explores how militaristic capitalism distorts everyday life as it promotes inequality, bullying, environmental devastation, and war.

2024-11-19 16:29:22 +0000 UTCThey're not really radlibs, thankfully. They're old guard/New Left academics. They are smart, sincere guys who do have a less critical pov, relative to mine. But They're nice guys and they didn't bristle when i disagreed with them and such. Hearing from the best critics of imperial capitalism (like, uh, AE, obviously) can make you lose sight of how bad the mainstream is. These two are definitely not that, their blind spots not withstanding.

As long as the libs don’t see the Dems for what they are they will continue to make the same mistakes.
