It's never said in the anime so this is not a spoiler but the writing on Anju's back reads "whores daughter" and was carved on her back by other 86 in the camps. Hence part of the reason they recognize that not all 86 are good. Anju is one of my favorite characters from the anime. Tough and resilient.

Concerning Raiden mentioning Kurena knowing the worst of Alban, I don't remember whether this was mentioned in the anime at all, so I wouldn't really count this as a spoiler, but I will give the warning nevertheless. Spoiler: One of the things we know is that Kurena witnessed her parents getting gunned down by Alban soldiers as shooting practise. Surely there was other stuff too, but I think it's much more understandable why she hates Albans so much and still hasn't completely warmed up to Lena, even if we see progress in that regard.

2024-05-23 02:37:38 +0000 UTCSo a couple of minor things. Kurena already said what her particular beef with the Albans was when she was talking with Daiya after storming out the room. A couple of guards just up and used her parents as target practice. The other thing is they said 86 with Alban or Imperial blood tended to get mistreated. So there's no conflict with Rei's statement that their parents are from the empire. I'm glad Ben's well enough to react to this again, both because your reactions are great and because I've been dealing with my own mental health issues interfering with my creative projects.
