I don't remember if it's intentional in the show or the manga but a cool touch in the beginning is how he seemed unbothered by fire or the knife in his ribs, cause in Norse mythology berserkers were the "chosen" of Odin, immune to fire and iron while wreaking havoc on everything around them innocent or otherwise
