In my estimation, the pushing of opiates onto the Global South and then minority populations in the metropoles is a crime that is perhaps almost on par with the other great imperialist crimes such as famines, genocide of indigenous peoples, slavery, and destruction of indigenous production/governance capacities. It would be interesting to find out how much of the missionary activity in Yunnan and elsewhere in China was tied to the American Deep State. I did a dive into Western plant hunters in Yunnan, SE Tibet, Assam, Burma area. Some of these people were ex or current military so it's an obvious connection, but now I wonder if they're pretty much all tied to the Western deep state in some way.
