What ‘past’? As William Faulkner said, ‘The past is not dead. It’s not even past.’ While the almost anyone who was directly involved then are gone, the institutions - Intelligence, Military, Media, Financial - are still very much with us. So they have EVERY reason to continue the cover-up and admit to nothing. Like a good military withdrawal, when the current defensive position becomes untenable, they move back to the next prepared position.
