Haganah, Irgun (split) + LEHI - were militias operating in Palestine in the 40's. I am just beginning to research these events in detail, so I would defer to an expert like Norm Finklestein or AE (wheelhouse).

One issue that deserves more attention (beyond just post WW2 Israel construction) is the overall plan of Empire (GB+US) w/ the Balfour Declaration - the American public needs to understand the original project I 1917 and why the Nabka happened beyond Nazis (which clearly were an evil precipitant) But the US/GB facilitated and are responsible for much of this genocide - assassination of Count Bernadotte, Dier Yassin massacre and Irgun paramilitaries - this needs to be better understood by the US public for context. Thanks for all you do
