It’s pretty common practice to use lighter powder loads to produce subsonic rounds, which is to say rounds that produce less of a cracking report when fired. Its possible it was a manufacturing flaw, for sure, but I found myself wondering if the intact round was a result of a custom load like this. This would have been smart if individuals were trying to create the impression of a single shot. Of course, a number of people heard more than one report. Just a thought.
