This isn't a topic I follow closely. I just recall time and again when talking heads that I have some trust in say it's time for Kurds to make a deal with Syrians against ISIS and Turkey and I've never heard of Kurds trying to reach a deal. Considering that they're squatting and selling oil that Syria desperately need for reconstruction, that Kurdish national aspiration require ethnically cleansing large numbers of non-Kurds a la Kosovar Albanians, and that they've been American cat's paw for decades, I admit that I'm not sympathetic to their plight.

To be fair he is consistently anti imperialist but promotes voting blue and “social democracy in the present, socialism in the future.” How do you think someone like this can be able to become the most popular commentator on a major (online) media platform, and not get booted off?

2023-08-01 16:03:57 +0000 UTCWere the Syrians really willing to work with them? In what I’ve come across it has always sounded like the Assad regime has had it out for the Kurds. Obviously all that can be wrong. I’m not there nor do I speak any of the languages of that region, which limits the ability to get a read on the region in question. Another aspect I am curious about is the YPG vs. ISIS angle. Considering the fact that ISIS may have been a western creation. McJihadis as Aaron has called them.
