The Final Word with Sam Billings

Another big week in the endless run of big weeks. So big that we're sending last Wednesday's post out on Sunday. Whoops. 

Let's start with our trip to the MCG last Monday. 

Season 13, Ep 8: The day before the Melbourne ODI, England batter and sometime keeper Sam Billings sits down with us in the big seating bowl to talk life, opportunity, long road trips, posh schools, public perception, the sense of home, and the liberation of letting go. A great conversation with an eloquent player. Also this week: the crowded schedule, the women's Big Bash versus AFLW, and some local cricket fun with running out the non-striker.

Live in Melbourne

We had a ball at the Mission to Seafarers last Wednesday. Chris Rogers was an insightful and very candid guest, the former Federal Treasurer dropped by to tell us what it was like being Adam's boss, and we had a second half of Final Nerd ephemera and creative licence. We also got our first shipment of Final Word shirts onto people's backs. We'll work out how to make these available online soon.

Story Time!

The current weekend's episode of Story Time was delayed, we're hoping to have that up on Monday but it may yet be Tuesday. Stay tuned. 

Last weekend was Story Time 113, recorded as part of our regional Victorian roadshow. We've never done a show in the bath before, so why not change things up? That was after starting the episode at Reid Oval in Warrnambool, where Adam used to play cricket as a teenager. On the show, the dancefloor antics of Dodger Whysall, some Scott Boland detours on our way to Harrow, perfect squares, the GM Diamond, and some good Scottish times.

As a one-off, this episode was also shot on video shot by Cam Fink. We usually don't film Story Time because it can be a rambling experience, but here we did, across two published vids. 

The first one begins with one of Cam's signature bizarre stories, which took place in front of us this very same day.
