Final Word live on tour

We have one date locked in - The replacement Melbourne show after lockdown torpedoed us last January. That feels like a very long time ago. On Wednesday November 23rd we will be back at the Mission to Seafarers building at 717 Flinders Street, in the Melbourne CBD just on the far side of Spencer Street.

Other details to follow. About 60 of you opted to hang onto 100 tickets to the previous show, which you can put to use. If you need to change names or anything, we'll try to help out via finalwordcricket@gmail.com.

Other places?

Adelaide, Wednesday November 9: We will be watching the Sydney semi-final at The Arab Steed pub in they city, and recording the Daily afterwards. (Fingers crossed.) Anyone in town, come by.

Melbourne, Friday November 11: Back in Melbourne ahead of the final, and recording a preview show somewhere while extolling the virtues of our home city. Anyone who wants to be part of an audience and grab a drink is welcome, details will arrive by next week.

Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane Tests: The matches Adam will be at before heading home to welcome Winnie #2 into the world. We haven't had the bandwidth to organise full live shows, but if anyone can help out with suggestions or contacts for a venue then it might get us over the line.

We would be low-key in promoting it, so we could manage with a room for 50 people at a pub or cricket club or similar, either the night before or during the Test. Drop us a line if you have any ideas. If a live show doesn't happen, we'll at least arrange a casual meet-up.

The video tour

This one is interesting - we're linking up again with our favourite cameraman Cameron Fink, the man who made our fake documentary Holy Ground. (If you've never seen it, do yourself a favour.) After the World Cup we'll be driving Melbourne to Adelaide for the Australia-England one-dayer and stopping to shoot shows in some of the prettiest cricket spots along the way. Can't wait.

TFW Daily

We've done 19 days straight across nine different towns and cities, and we're glad to be near the far end. Hence the weekly show biting the dust this week - we did put in requests for interviews but couldn't get the right one at the right time. Hopefully the bulk of other shows recently compensates. The Daily though have been getting more silly and fun, and have been making parochial commenters mad every day.

If you haven't seen the video versions, here is the YouTube channel. Also, here is local Adelaide celebrity Bharat Sundaresan presenting the Cup trophy before the game on Wednesday.

Story Time

We did manage to squeeze in a Story Time last weekend though. So if you were downloading a Queensland cricketer, who would it be? How does the Axel F theme song from Beverly Hills Cop relate to umpire Ross Emerson? What did Bradman say in his sleep? And can Geoff hunt down the revisit of his nemesis, Rob O'Neill?

Your Nerd Pledge numbers this week:
3.61 - Ciaran Wilcox
6.47 - Sexy Ryan Thomas
3.68 - Sam Litster
2.52 - Rahul Venkat
5.00 - Sarah Berman
12.33 - Chris Unwin

The audio is here.

Another big week in Final Word land. Thanks for sticking with us, you're making all of this nonsense possible.
