Bad endings

Hi everyone!

I hope you're all doing well, thank you to everyone who took part in the latest poll!

Thanks to your input, Asami will finally get a storyline that does her justice. I’m not exactly sure when we’ll include it, but I’ll ask for your feedback when the time comes.

Today, I’d like to talk about something else that’s really important: bad endings.

A visual novel with choices is great, but if those choices don’t really change anything in the end, it can leave a bit of a bitter taste…

Would you be interested in seeing this kind of game mechanic?

For example:

These kinds of decisions could lead to darker outcomes. Of course, that would mean including some unpleasant scenes, but it would also bring more tension to the game — a bad choice could have serious consequences.

What do you think?

P.S.: We’re a little behind on version 0.11… With a bit of luck, it should be ready by the end of April!

I think you can do both lines, as long as you mark the options that will lead to a bad ending (ntr or other endings), or give an option at the beginning similar to whether you want to turn on the bad ending (NTR line) switch. I think everyone can enjoy what they like, and at the same time, you also take into account two different audience groups. Although it may increase the workload, the game's internal capacity will also greatly increase, and perhaps everyone is willing to buy it, bro, This is simply a three win situation. lol

I would prefer a feel good experience without bad endings, but if they're going to be added anyway, I'd rather the choice that leads to it be obvious or just have an option to disable them. Some people may have that morbid curiosity to think "what if something bad happened at this stage of the story," and maybe it would give the good options more weight as some others have said, but not everyone wants to see something bad happen to characters that they've come to love. So making it obvious or having an option in the settings to disable them would prevent the people who don't want to see the bad endings without realizing from wasting their time seeing something they don't want to see if they're just going to reload an old save to back out of it anyway as someone else pointed out.

If adding bad endings is inevitable, then maybe make them optional in the settings or add hints in the choices, etc. For example, if I see that I'm moving towards a bad ending, then I'll go back and not play it out - so it's better to know in advance, rather than waste time on something I didn't want to see.

I can`t wait for the new version

I think you should be able to disable bad endings pregame or avoid them entirely through correct decision making. Maybe similar to how you can see the type of romance/rejection/domination route you'd take, add a NTR notification to the options.

Gunner

Bad endings would increase replayability.
