Goodbye Eternity - Godot version (beta)
Added 2024-05-07 14:01:24 +0000 UTCHi everyone, after months of development and hard work, we're finally able to bring you the godot version of Goodbye Eternity.
You'll be able to test it and make up your own mind. It's important for me to remind you of a few key points:
- We all have different configurations and different machines, so if you come across any bugs or unusual behavior, please report them in the brand-new bug channel.
- Beta version backups will not be compatible with version 0.9
- You may experience performance problems with scenes that still use video as animation.
- The game is no longer made with Renpy, but with the Godot game engine (old savegames are no longer compatible).
Thanks to all those who will contribute to this bug hunt, we can offer a better game for everyone.
The beta version is only available to patrons and on Windows only (there will be an android version of the game, don't worry).

2024-05-13 08:18:40 +0000 UTCI tested beta 1 and 2 on both there are fewer bugs or the application closes by itself on 2 (I noticed that this happens most often when I click too frantically to pass the dialogue that I already know) another problem and also during animated scenes, when we go from one shot to another the different sounds overlap which creates an inaudible cacophony, I even had a scene where the moaning continued after the scene, I had to restart the application to stop it

2024-05-10 12:26:27 +0000 UTCyou'd have to make sure that the game launches on the dedicated GPU, and not on the Intel graphics chip. If you have Nvidia drivers, you should be able to right-click -> "Run with graphics processor" on the game's .exe file. The 920m should be able to run the game (potato mode), but the HD 5500 certainly can't.

Windows 10 Pro ver. 22h2 CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5950x GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 3080TI 12GB RAM: G.Skill Trident Z Neo 64GB DDR4-3600 (4 x 16 GB) MOBO: Crosshair VIII Hero WIFI Case: Phanteks Enthoo 719 PSU: EVGA 1000w Gold 11TB of Hard Drive space across 6 different physical disks, including a Sabrent Rocket NVMe, Samsung EVO SSDs, and old WD Black HDDs. If anything, it isn't for lack of computer, I'd wager. I've noticed personally that it happens more often whenever I am skipping text, but judging by some of the other comments, it might just be a Godot thing.

2024-05-09 02:57:40 +0000 UTCSeems like some sounds aren’t playing correctly and the gallery won’t unlock certain scenes sometimes unless I replay them. The crashing issue was menetioned before but I guess I’ll mention it again lol. There is also a weird issue with the pointer where randomly if I click it’ll recenter on the screen. Other than that, it looks great on the new platform!
