Updated Avatar design

I passed your feedback along to the artist, and this was his next revision, mainly focusing on edits to the face.  Again, your feedback is welcome as we try to get the design just right.

Updated Avatar design

I would really like to see one still in final form to really give feedback on. If I'm being honest, this first draft is not super great if it is close to done. The linework is very rough and dirty, the colors are pretty flat, and I'm not sure if it is just that this is a draft to show a concept or if this is a final piece. If this is close to the final, I would suggest hiring a professional artist with a budget of about $10,000 to do the avatar and include both for players to choose from. This would support the current artist and support the community by providing a high-quality option for 'discerning' players and a great experience for the current artist. The professional avatar could even be a higher tier reward, I'd pay for it. So if I'm being honest, for the revenue being generated here, I kinda expect the avatar to be Shadman quality vs sketchbook. Not literally, but pretty close. Tales of Androgyny is a perfect example of the quality I would expect and love to see here. That said, I really don't know the artist or how close this is to finished. If this is close to done, I see a growing artist with a lot of potential down the road who should keep at it. Personal feedback for them, the face could use more attention, the linework is not very clean and makes the art muddy. The hair sits/feels like a wig because there currently isn't any shadowing at the hairline. The skin is a single color, this is why it feels cartoony, flat, and of lower quality. I would recommend adding a second or 3rd color for the skin tone to add highlights and depth to the skin. If I were looking at this like a production of my own, I would expect this to be a pre-production concept art vs a final product render. If it is, I'd want to give feedback on the final render to be fair to the artist. If this is almost final, and you were asking me to make the choice of management, I would take 1-2 months of revenue and go all out on the avatar with a named professional artist AND also have the current artist finish their version as well. This makes sure they can earn the experience and grow as an artist while also offering a polished final product with multiple options. They clearly care about their work and this project, they've put a lot into it and it isn't bad by any means, but I think it isn't great either. I know there is a lot of content to draw for PE, but that is why I suggest spending so much on it and I'm sure there is a second artist out there who could use the food money while you're making it, it could even be a good mentor opportunity if this is a new artist.
